10 Ways to Gain Your Client’s trust if you don’t have 10 years experience

Building trust with your ideal client and booking out a full wedding season, is something I get asked about a lot. We see other photographers (very successful photographers!) who have been running their businesses for 10-, 20-, 30 years and we inevitably compare ourselves to them: How can we build that kind of trust with our ideal clients if we haven’t been in the industry for long?

I know in my early days that I looked up to so many photographers and felt imposter syndrome (it’s so real!). I was trying to turn my hobby into a thriving business so I could quit my 9-5 job. I realised that I had to follow my own path and building trust would come naturally if I invested in myself, my brand and focused on serving my ideal client. Would it happen overnight? I wish! I looked for that 1% change each day bringing me closer to the goals I had set for my first few years of business.

In this episode of the Life & Lens Podcast, I share 10 Ways to Build Trust with your ideal client even if you don’t have years of experience running a successful wedding photography business. I unpack my experience over the last 3 years and the 10 ways I built trust with my audience to book out season on season. I cover activities such as mindset, self-believe, Ideal Client Discovery, branding, launch strategy and building social proof (one of my favourite topics!).

Whether you’re about to launch your own brand or relaunch your existing business for a new ideal client, stacking all these trust-building activities on top of each other is when the magic will start to happen.

 Your potential is limitless.

4 Main Takeaway Points:

·       Mindset is the starting point for having self-belief, realising your potential and turning a hobby into a thriving business

·       Invest in your business early including systems, processes, outsourcing so that you can focus on what you are good at and serve your clients. Investing in yourself whether it’s mindset or honing your craft is a life-long journey. For Lei Lei’s Resources, click here.

·       Niching early and spending time on Ideal Client Discovery will bring into focus your marketing strategy and your customer journey. Knowing how to attract your ideal client is powerful; the more you know about them, the better you understand their needs and desires and how to communicate that you are the perfect photographer for them.

·       When you stack trust-building activities on top of each other, that’s when the magic starts to happen. Be consistent and strategic in your approach. Follow your own path.
